Redemption
(Winter 2022 - Winter 2023)
The Setting: The Crossroads Kingdom, a collection of floating islands in a sea of stars
The Format: Long form campaign (season 1 was 10 episodes,
season 2 coming soon)
4 recurring players, plus 1 guest star in most episodes.

The Premise: The 4 royal advisors to the king have their jobs made much more complicated when King Lucius develops amnesia. Each episode, a new guest player joins us to play the King, who of course has no memory of their previous adventures or even who he is. Will this eclectic team of advisors be able to save the kingdom--and its monarch--before their identities are forgotten forever?
Characters
Because we had much more time to build backstory and relationships, this campaign had some of our most interesting and complex player characters.
Robin, a faeblooded noble who partied and slept around the kingdom without consequence, up until his two older brothers were suddenly killed and banished, leaving him heir apparent;
Eloise, a deathtouched sorceress, who threatens not only the lives but also the entire social structure of a magical institution convinced only seventh sons possess magic;
Alhammaret, a pirate-genie, who's lived hundreds of lives and regrets but has never managed to truly find freedom;
The Caretaker, the janitor-ghost who haunts the Crossroads Castle, and maybe the only person as linked to the kingdom's history as Lucius himself;
and of course,
King Lucius, the mysterious King, whose secretive past, lost even to him, is rapidly coming to light.
Each player's backstory is entwined with a storyline and mystery central to their character, allowing the players to explore their character and learn more about each others' as they discover more about the kingdom.
Elaborate Storylines
Unlike some of our shorter campaigns, this game let us really focus on creating interesting, complex, and interwoven mysteries for the players to solve.
Sometimes the clues they found were easy to identify (Robin's missing brother left behind a note--we know who that involves!), but a lot of the unexplained things they found out early in the story were only connected to involve their own histories when they were able to put all the pieces together.
We're lucky none of our players have built a corkboard & string web yet!
