I care a lot about player experience, and that extends beyond gameplay. One of the things we pride ourselves on is clear communication throughout the games.

For our recurring Redemption players, we created a "homepage" for each of them. This page links to their character sheet (an editable pdf that both we and the players have access to), their backstory, maps, our zoom link, and all other resources they may need. This lets the players have access to all of their resources easily during gameplay and gives them one easy link to bookmark.

For our guest stars, we have a series of emails to send. The first explains the game and asks anyone interested to sign up for a time. We then have an email that gets sent to them pre-game (to ask their game preferences and make them feel comfortable with the system) and post-game (with information on how to get updates on the story).

Collaborating with a co-GM and co-creator is also a great challenge with these games. Matt and I have different styles of storytelling, things we want to emphasize, and ideas for storylines. There are often frustrating moments when we can't get a part of the story to where we want it, but it's undoubtable how much stronger the game is because of our ability to collaborate and work through those frustrations. I am very grateful to get to work with such talented collaborators--not just Matt, but all of our players, who shape the storytelling just as much as we do--through these games.
